Top Car Summer Maintenance Tips

Summer’s heat, dust, and stop-and-go traffic, will take their toll on your car. Extreme heat and long drives can be tough on vehicles. Cracked hoses, leaky radiators and dirty filters can significantly lower your fuel efficiency, or worse, lead to a total breakdown.­

Air Conditioning

Have the your air conditioning examined by our qualified technician. Air filters that clean the air entering and might need replacing as well.

Tires

Under-inflated, over-inflated, worn down or misaligned tires can be extremely dangerous, particularly in hot summer weather. Let us show you how to correctly check the tire pressure and we will routinely check the tire tread, balance and alignment.

Oil

Check your oil and oil filter as specified in your manual more often  if you make frequent short jaunts, extended trips with lots of luggage, or tow a trailer. Belts run the fan to help cool the system in addition to the hoses connected to the radiator help pump coolant to and from the engine. Hoses and belts should not be cracked or brittle. Otherwise the radiator could quickly overheat, resulting in a break down.

Cooling System
